ABIDE - Medium Roast

"Abide" is a sweet and fruity natural processed coffee from the Ayarza Wine Series by El Porvenir Co-op in Santa Rosa, Guatemala. This coffee was selected for this collection because of it's sweet fruit and wine qualities. We have chosen a medium roast profile to preserve its delicate red fruit notes while delivering rich tones of dark chocolate and highlighting caramel shortbread sweetness. Designed to be enjoyed on its own or with milk. 

BEHIND THE DESIGN-

This coffee is so naturally sweet, something achieved only by the ideal growing conditions. The coffee branch symbolises the idea of abiding. As the coffee shrub grows it will face weather fluctuations, seasons, and challenges like pest pressure. Weather fluctuations from day to night encourage slower ripening for the cherries, filling them with more natural sugars. Seasons encourage consistent flowering and fruiting ensuring a productive harvest. Pest pressure can be helped by plant diversity but mostly by the attention and help of the gardener. So long as the branch remains on the shrub, it can weather the seasons and changes with the help of its caretaker.

This reminds us of John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing."
